The Loop trail weaves its way along the levy of the Papillion Creek south of Highway 370 and parallels Highway 73/75. The terrain slopes gently toward the south and is sparsely populated. The adjacent properties are mostly undeveloped agricultural parcels and the scenery is rural in nature.
Walking the trails is an experience unlike any other in the Omaha metro area. Fontenelle Nature Association owns and manages 2,000 acres of conservation land and 26 miles of marked trails within Fontenelle Forest Nature Center in Bellevue and Neale Woods in Omaha.
West Papio Trail - South is a 7 mile point-to-point trail located near Bellevue, Nebraska that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for road biking, trail running & walking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
