Jay Michael Suddy Foundation
The annual race is named in memory of Jay Suddy, who grew up in Eastport, ME and was a member of the Shead class of 1991. The Run/Walk race originated in South Boston, MA in 2005 where Jay was employed at the Boston Athletic Club. Jay was an organizer of an annual road race hosted at the BAC. After Jay's death, that race was renamed in his honor and a scholarship was established.
After having the Suddy race in Boston for 4 years, the race moved to Jay's hometown, now in it's 7th year. To date, $32,250 has been distributed for college scholarships and another $8,000 are pledged to recent Shead graduates.
