Joplin Turkey Trot 5K

JUST ANNOUNCED:

The first 900 5K registrants will receive a FINISHER MEDAL! The medal is a large, colorful metal-alloy with a full-color ribbon. Perfect for your race medal collection!

Welcome to the 4th Annual Joplin Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk in Downtown Joplin! Runners and walkers are encouraged to join us on Thanksgiving morning for what’s quickly becoming a family tradition for many. This CERTIFIED 5K course begins and ends right in front of Joplin City Hall on Main Street, which is closed to traffic. Participants will enjoy a technical long sleeved race shirt, music by a professional DJ, Krispy Kreme donuts, and Starbucks coffee. Club 609, across from the finish line, will be open just for our runners who want to have a Bloody Mary or other mixed drink before heading to Thanksgiving dinner. As Joplin’s largest 5K, this is a race you don’t want to miss!

November 26 – Joplin Turkey Trot: 5K @ 8:00am and 1 Mile @ 8:05am

Packet Pick-up:

Packet pick-up will be held at The Run Around (422 S Main) on November 25th from 11:00am-6:00pm. Late packet pick-up will be available on race day from 7:00 am - race start.

Course Description:

Flat, out and back course on pavement.

Chip Timing:

Chip timing provided for all registered 5K.

Technical Long Sleeved Shirts:

5K and 1 Mile Run registrants registered by November 18th will be guaranteed a technical long sleeved race shirt. After November 18th, shirts will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

Post-Race Goodies:

Runners will enjoy Krispy Kreme donuts and Starbucks coffee.

Awards:

Prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female in the 5K. Age category awards will be given for the following age categories: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

DJ:

There will be professional DJ playing music and keeping runners informed during the event.

Race Day Registration:

Race day registration will be available from 7:00 am - race start. The registration fee will increase on race day by $5 for the 5K. The 1 Mile Fun Run will remain fixed at $15.

1 Mile Fun Run:

Fun Run participants under the age of 12 will receive a finisher's medal. All Fun Run participants will enjoy post-race snacks and festivities.

Virtual 5K Option Available!

Runners who can't attend race night can sign up for the Virtual 5K. Virtual runners are not eligible for overall or age category awards. Virtual runner directions:

1. Run your virtual race distance anytime during the month of November.
2. On or after race day (November 26th), post your time result on either the Turkey Trot Event page or on your My Activities dashboard on LocalRaces.com.
3. Our staff will then mail virtual runners their race shirt.
