Blazing Star Trail West Branch is a gently rolling, paved, out and back trail that is suitable for walkers, joggers, and bikers and of all ages. Beginning at the NW corner of Albert Lea Lake in Albert Lea, MN, the trail stretches 4 miles to the Ranger station at Myre-Big Island State Park.
This hiking location offers many different trail loops, from short to all day long if you hike them all. The trails are mostly shaded due to the densely wooded park. The park is mostly hilly, but some are relaxed. Nice park for mountain biking or gliding on a Segway, but is mostly used for hiking.
This is a good local trail for all day hike skill levels. The park offers a campground with water and electric services, as well as tent camping, but does not offer any 'modern' bath/shower houses or restrooms. Both a hard surface and dirt hiking trail are available.
This park is a campground with a recreational trail. It's a good trail for the entire family and the leashed pet. The trail heads are signed very well, and are well maintained, free of debris, branches and obstacles.
