About This Activity

Mark your calendars for the sixth annual Freeman Family 5K and One Mile Fun Run scheduled for Saturday April 9, 2016. The 5K and Fun Run both begin and end at the South Family YMCA. Enjoy running or walking a new course this year. The 5K will once again be held in conjunction with the Joplin Family Y’s Healthy Kids Day. The One Mile Fun Run begins at 8 am and the 5K begins at 8:30 am.

Race Day Schedule: Rain or Shine
7 – 8 am Packet pick up / race day registration
8:00 am One Mile Fun Run starts
8:30 am 5K Run/Walk starts

Awards given to the top overall male and female plus first, second, and third in each category.

Categories: under 15, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Freeman Pediatric Therapy. They offer highly specialized treatments to children from birth to 21 years of age. Their skilled, certified therapists evaluate and treat children with a varying range of physical, developmental and neurodevelopmental disabilities (disorder of brain function that affects emotion, learning ability, self-control and memory). They focus on working with the child to help build strength, improve movement and strengthen skills through individualized treatment sessions.

Child care provided from 7:30 – 10 am for children 8 weeks – 12 years courtesy of the Joplin Family YMCA.
