About This Activity
The Run For Life 2014 event, on November 22, starts wth the 5k run/walk at 8:30 a.m. on 5th Ave. near the Mainstreet Stage, heads north to 19th St., heads South to 3rd Ave., crosses over 20th to Veterans Park and loops around it, comes out on 3rd Ave., heads N. on Beltram Dr., then goes back to 5th Ave, heads E. on 5th and curves around to cross over 6th Ave. at 23rd St., continues N. until 7th Ave., turns W. until Beech, goes 2 blocks right to 9th Ave, turns left on 21st St. past the Lutheran Church, then left at 7th, back to 23rd, then right until crossing 6th Ave., and back onto 5th Ave., all the way back to the finish, past the start near the Mainstreet stage. The 1 Mile goes straight up 5th Ave to the cone near 20th St., around the cone and back to race finish. There will be live music, face painting for the kids, awards for overall winners and age-group winners, great gift certificates, and after race refreshments as long as they last. Parking is available in city lot off of 8th St. across from Mainstreet Stage, around the block adjacent to 7-eleven, in the City Hall parking on 6th Ave. between 7th and 8th Street, and along the Westbound lane side of 5th Ave. Bring your friends and family to enjoy this event that benefits the Zephyrhills Pregnancy Care Center.
Event details and schedule
Race Day Registration begins at 7:00 a.nl; 5k start is at 8:30; 1 mile fun run starts at 9:15. The courrse will be well marked (see route and parking info. in event description). Live music and free face painting, along with free race participant refreshments, will take place after the races, and an awards ceremony will follow between 10 and 11:00. Please look for signs and race attendants to direct you to parking. Be sure to get your race bib with # at the race registration table. If you pre-registered, your packet with shirt will be waiting for you. Wear your favorite socially acceptable running attire, enjoy the friendly small town atmosphere, and feel great that you're being active for such a worthy cause.
