About This Activity

This flat and fast USATF-certified course and Peachtree qualifier (#GA13032WC) is the oldest 10K race in Georgia, second only to the Peachtree 10K. The race is held as part of the annual Winterville Marigold Festival in Pittard Park.

About the Kids Marathon:  The Marigold Kids Marathon running/walking program is designed for children kindergarten through 9th grade.  Children will run the distance of a full marathon (26.2 miles) over the course of 12 or 8 weeks. Kids will run a total of 25.2 miles in 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, 3/4 mile or 1 mile increments between Monday, February 16th and Friday, May 15th to qualify for the kid’s marathon race day participation. Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup: Begins at 6:30AM in the picnic pavilion

10K: Starts at 7:30AM

Last mile of the Kids Marathon: Starts at 9AM

Awards: The 10K overall male and female winner, master’s male and female winner, and first three finishers, male and female, in age groups of 5 year increments will receive Swampware pottery awards by local artist Pat McCaffrey.  There will be no timing or awards for the 1.0 mile marathon run. All participants in the kid’s marathon will receive a medal after crossing the finish line.

Timing and Results:  Finish line management and results provided by Classic Race Services with results posted to www.classicraceservices.com, www.active.com, www.runningintheusa.com and www.coolrunning.com.

Shirts and Goodies: Shirts are guaranteed to those who register by 5/4/15.  Those registering after that date and on race day are not guaranteed a shirt or size.  There will be plenty of refreshments.  Stay for the Marigold Festival, they will have music, a parade and vendors.

Series Affiliation: The race is part of the 2015 Black Bag Race Series and the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix.
