About This Activity

As the first one of the new Navajo Parks Race Series, the Code Talker 29K will take place in Window Rock Tribal Park, in Window Rock, AZ, at 8:00 am.  At 9:00 am, the 10K is also being held.  These running events honor the Navajo Code Talkers, who heroism in time of war saved the lives of countless people.

Event details and schedule

This 18-mile or 6-mile race (on a trail course) will take place in Window Rock on the Sunday (Sept 13) of Navajo Nation Fair. Registration is just $20 for the 10k and $25 for the 29k, with tees to first 100 registered runners in each, an original race poster, course support and post-race food.  There is no registration capacity limit for this event.
Packet pickup and registration begins at 7 am.  The 29K begins at 8:00 am, and the 10K begins at 9:00 am.
The Code Talker 29k is followed by the Asaayi Mountain Run (November), Monument Valley Marathon (December), Little Colorado River Gorge (February), Shiprock (May), Asaayi (August), Code Talkers 29K (Sept), Four Corners (October) and Rainbow Bridge Trail Ultra (November).  The Series will be varied in distance and terrain, and all will have kids and commuity involvement.  The gear and posters from the Series will be awesome, plus you will have the chance to run with VP Jonathan Nez, who supports the NavajoYES Infrastructure of Wellness Initiative.
