About This Activity

(Formerly Whiteface Wipeout)

Saturday March 29, 2014

Registration March 1-29 at Guest Services.

First 50 to register receive a free goodie bag!

Attention all hardy Adirondack types!  Time to get outside and show us what you’re made of.  The second annual Whiteface SNOWEATER is littered with frozen obstacles that will put ice in your veins, snow down your pants and most likely make you laugh hysterically all day long. Participants will don ghastly getups while taking on an adventure race at the base looping around Mixing Bowl, Round-A-Bout, & Bear.  Don’t miss this opportunity to prove your mountain mettle and achieve eternal winter glory.

After your race, join us in the Cloudspin lounge for BBQ, Karaoke, drink specials and awards; plus your first drink is on us (Bud Light or Coke). Top male and female finishers will be crowned Mr. & Mrs. Whiteface, each taking home a new pair of skies and an official judging spot for Pond Skimming on April 6th! All participants have the opportunity to win great swag.  First 50 to register receive SNOWEATER beanie and a goodie bag!

 The Course & Obstacles

Endless frozen obstacles include a Water Cross, Human Luge, Slalom Forest, maze and much more. The Whiteface SNOWEATER winter adventure race is geared towards fun-seeking, snow loving people who want to hold on to winter fun as long as there is snow on the slopes. Take the excitement of a mud run & add some slushy winter obstacles; this is your chance to prove your mountain mettle, achieve eternal Whiteface glory and most likely get lots of snow down your pants on the way.

On March 29, 2014, participants will suit up in costumes for each of the three heats.  The Mr. & Mrs. Whiteface heat is a 1.5K leg with an Olympic theme. For the Super Hero heat, I expect to see a lot of capes and for the Adirondack heat, get out your flannel and suspenders.  Embark on a course that loops around the Whiteface base area, Mixing Bowl, Round-A-Bout, finishing at the bottom of  Bear.

What is SNOWEATER? An adventure race for everyone to enjoy winter.

Adventure Race?... does that mean it will be hard?  Think Mud Run Snow Scramble... Adventure mazes with some fun snow obstacles in your way.

Looking for a tougher challenge? The 2:30pm heat has an added lap up the Wolf trail with some extra features to get in your way!

What kind of obstacles? Snow Luge (an area to do a downhill body slide), hurdles, maze, slalom course runs, a water crossing, and anything else we can think of!

How much is it?

Race entry fee is $15 for the short course and $25 for the 1.5 K, not a skier or snowboarder but still want some winter fun?  No problem you can participate too.

How old do I need to be? Any age but if you are under 18 you must have a parent sign the registration.

What do I get with registering? A SNOWEATER beanie and goodie bag for the first 50 people to register. First Bud Light or Coke at the Cloudspin Lounge is on us.  There will also be prizes for best times and best costumes, best splash in the water feature, etc.  The best male and female will be crowned Mr. & Mrs. Whiteface and each will receive a new pair of skis, Stormtech jacket and a judging spot for Pond Skimming April 6th!

How many heats are there? Currently, three heats with a max of 200 competitors per heat. Additional heats may be added.

What if I don't want to dress up? You don't have to dress up, but there will be prizes for best costumes.

Can I run it with a team? All heats will be individually based, but running it side-by-side with your friends is quite all right!

Will I need snowshoes? Nope! The course will be designed to be run with anything from tennis shoes to boots. Snowshoes and other equipment will not be allowed on the course.

What happens if it snows that day? Then we run in the snow! The race will go on snow or shine!

What happens if I can't make it to the event? All sales are final. There will be no refunds issued. Race entry cannot be resold or transferred.

Ok, where do I register? You can register online or at Guest Services from 8am to 4pm any day between March 1st  -  28th  or on race day March 29th from 8am to 10am. You will also need to sign the participant waiver. If you are under 18, you will need to have a parent to sign the waiver for you.  You can print one at or pick one up at Guest Services.

What if I want to bring a group?  The more the merrier, while we don’t have a group rate for the competition if you wish to get group rates on lift tickets feel free to call or e-mail Group Sales at or call 518.946.2223 x214
