About This Activity

First 500 to register will receive a race t-shirt!

Start Time is 7:00 AM

Run the only 3-bridge 10K course on the east coast! Starts at the Cotton Exchange parking lot, across the street from the Hilton Hotel on Water Street, run over the Memorial Bridge and across two more bridges before finishing on Water Street with a 1/3 mile flat and fast run to the finish! You'll also have a short loop down Battleship Road where you'll run in front of the Battleship USS North Carolina and take in the view of downtown Wilmington across the Cape Fear River - very picturesque. There will be extensive coning on the race course so you'll run safe and fast over the bridges. You know it’s going to be HOT so take the challenge with the humidity, heat, and hills of Wilmington! Have a great time recovering with local watermelon, cantaloupes and cold drinks to cool down with while enjoying the post race activities and awards ceremony at the Cotton Exchange.

The 5K course travels through the downtown area and has some slight rolling hills and a couple of short, steep grades.

Awards will be custom Tri-span award mugs going 3-deep in 5-year age groups in both races.

Military Awards:

When you register in the military category you will be entered automatically in the military branch competition. This year we are having a competition between the military branches. The top 3 female runners and the top 3 male runners in the branch holding the fastest branch time will receive a medal.

All proceeds benefit the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Program. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a FREE health and wellness program specifically designed for cancer survivors. Participants meet twice a week over a 12 week period and are led by three certified personal trainers through a well rounded program that includes a cardio, strength, and stretching/relaxation component, in a welcoming and supportive environment. The Y is honored to welcome and include cancer survivors and their families to our YMCA!

Participants and winners have included Olympic Marathon qualifiers (Travis Walter 30:40 course record holder), members of the Aruba Marathon team, men and women of all branches of the Armed Forces, local runners and athletes from all over the nation. Come join the fun and run with 500 other runners to test yourself and raise funds for the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Program. Once again, this year's Premier Sponsor is Maus, Warwick, Matthews & Company!
