About This Activity

WHO is the fastest man and woman in the Wyoming Valley? A simple question, but hard to answer, indeed. The Valley's Fastest Man Mile Series answers that question.

The Valley's Fastest Man Mile Series is in its 7th year and the entire series is being sponsored by the Susquehanna River Runners Club.

You can register for just this race and not run the series, if you wish.

This, last leg in the series, is the challenging Breaker Brewing Company Giants Despair Mile, contested over the famed Giants Despair Hill Climb course in Laurel Run, PA.

Your entry fee for this race includes the race itself, and an awesome post-race party inside Breaker Brewing Co. on Northampton Street, featuring beer and food provided by BBC, and our awards ceremony.  You may purchase tickets for food/beer for friends and family for an additional fee.

This race is run over a paved road course, closed to traffic, and has 650 grueling feet of elevation climb over the mile distance.  The GPS coordinates for the race are 41°13'23.3"N 75°51'55.5"W.

Do YOU have what it takes to conquer this challenge?

This race has bonus awards. The top three male and female finishers will each receive a $20 voucher to Breaker Brewing Co. which is open after the race and located just down the hill from the race venue. A $10 voucher to Breaker Brewing Co. shall be awarded to the top male and female finishers in each of the eight age groups. A $5 voucher to Breaker Brewing Co. shall be awarded to all entrants. The bonus awards presentation will be inside Breaker Brewing Co. after the race at 787 E Northampton St, Wilkes-Barre Township with parking and entrance behind the brewery on Lehigh Street.

Refunds and Rejection of Entries

There are no refunds of race fees for this series or individual events in the series.
