About This Activity

The Mid-America All-Indian Center and Friends Culture Dash 2014 is a 5K running and walking event on Saturday, Nov. 1 that celebrates Day of the Dead while encouraging participants – from the littlest to the oldest – to pay attention to their health. For those who are fueled by competition, the Culture Dash is a chip-timed race that begins at 9 a.m. on a flat course along the Arkansas River. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in the race’s seven age categories.  Everyone who reaches the finish line at the foot of the iconic Keeper of the Plains statue – whether by running, power walking or casual stroll – will be greeted by an array of activities at the Indian Center (kid’s crafts, face painting, arts & crafts booths and more) as well as special $1 admission to the Museum. Register by Oct. 18 to receive the early bird $25 rate that includes a teal Dri-FIT T-shirt with the Culture Dash logo. Late registration is $30, and race shirts are not guaranteed. There is no fee for the Toddler Trot at 10:30 a.m. All proceeds from the Culture Dash stay local. The event is a fund-raiser for Mid-America All-Indian Center programs that preserve American Indian history and culture.
