The 7th Annual Jeff Annas Memorial Firefighters 5k Run will be held September 13th and will once again be held at the beautiful Wellington Amphitheater. Race starts at 7:30 am. The race will be limited to 1400 runners so please sign up early so you don't miss out! See below for more information or visit JeffAnnas5k.com.

Charities: This years race will benefit the following charities: The Firefighters Paramedics Benevolent Fund...Through the Benevolent Fund the proceeds will be used for the Jeff Annas Memorial Scholarships. Thus far we have awarded over $30,000 in Scholarships to local students. Little Smiles of Florida...This awesome charity based in Wellington does amazing things for local children in need. We are committed to having an event that benefits our community and/or our service men and woman whom have sacrificed so much for us.
Fundraising: This year will are announcing that there will be individual and team fundraising options. This is a great way to help our charities!!! Trophys: Once again we will be awarding the "Firefighter Trophy" to the top 3 in each 5 year age group...do you have what it takes??? There will also be trophys for the top 3 fastest teams. ALL 5k Finishers will get a custom designed finishers medal!!
T-Shirts: Last year we had 7 (seven ) thats right...7...I said SEVEN different styles of shirts to choose from! Short sleeve, long sleeve, no sleeve, and hoodies!!! Still working on this years designs....will keep you updated!
Teams: The Team Challenge is a huge part of the race. Some teams had over 50 people!!! Create..or join a team during the registration process. Its NO extra money to be part of a team and you WILL still be eligible for individual awards. AND...we will give trophys to the top 3 fastest teams!
Food: Every Firefighter Event I go to has one thing in common....FOOD...Well maybe there is something else too...but lets talk about FOOD. Whole Foods Wellington has been a GREAT supporter in the past and will once again be sponsoring our FREE Firefighters Barbecue after the race!! Ribs, Wings, Pork, and who knows what else!! Thank You WHOLE FOODS!!
Kids Race: There will be a FREE Kids Fun Run after the 5k....about 1/2 mile. Every kid gets a number and finishers medal!! And its FREE!!! Registration for the Kids Run will take place on race day. Look for our registration tent.
Kids Check: Huh??? Whats a 'Kids Check?" Both parents want to run??? What do you do with the kids??? Drop them off at our Kids Check! We will have trained staff to check in and watch your kids while you run the race. They can even have your kids ready for the Kids Fun Run when you come pick them up. The Kids Check is located inside the Parks Building by the pool...it has AC! And its FREE! This will be our 3rd year doing the Kids Check. Registration for the Kids Check will take place on race day.
Vendors/Post Race Fun! There will be dozens of Vendors on site and we will once again have LIVE Music form a local band. Last years band Wonderama was AWESOME and we hope to have them back. We will also have a kids area with special "firefighting" related events going on. Stick around after the race and have some FUN!
Event details and schedule
Prices: $25 until July 1st...$30 July 1st to August 31st..$35 September 1st..
17 and under $20 until August 31st ....$30 September 1st. (age as of race day)
Schedule: the 5k Race starts at 7:30 am. The Kids Fun run will start at approximately 8:35 am. Awards begin around 9:00 am.
Pre Race Packet Pick Up: There will be Packet Pick Up at Fit2Run in the Wellington Mall on Saturday Spetember 6th from 1:30 pm -6:30 pm...and... on Sunday September 7th from 12:00 noon -5:00pm.
A 3rd Packet Pick Up will be Wednesday September 10th at Whole Foods Wellington from 5:00pm-8:00pm
Parking: There will be limited parking at the Amphitheater. Other parking will be available at various lots within walking distance of the starting area. Please arrive early to allow for plenty of time to get to starting area.
