About This Activity

The tradition continues! Walk the Embassies of World (over 40 non European Union) as these embassies open their doors for public exhibition. Fun, food, music, and some interesting beverages may be found at the embassies that open their doors for this year's event. The walk route will include Embassy Row and other highlights and points of interest in Washington, DC.

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the Passport DC, Washington, DC cultural event. The fascinating World Embassies open houses along embassy row.

This event is a sponsered by the US FreedomWalk Festival Club, Inc.  (AVA 901).  This event is also a sanctioned Volksmarch event by the American Volkssport Association (AVA), a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV).  This event counts for acquisition of IVV achievement awards.  Event number 2016/AT 101922.

Event details and schedule

Come walk with us for a 6(+/-)km or a 11(+/-) km distance to visit over 40 different embassies. Be sure to start early to be able to visit several open house to experience the food, activities, dances and customs native to their country. A complete list of embassies will be available at the start location.

Walks may be completed for IVV Credit only ($3.00) or the A-Award ($8.00).  The A-Award is a 4 inch, 100% embroidered patch shown below.

Start Times are between 9:30 am to 1 p.m., finish by 4:30 pm. No early starts. (All embassies open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.)

Start point is located at Panera Bread, 1350 Connecticut Ave, NW, Washington, DC.  (At Dupont Circle, between 19th St and Connecticut Ave.)

At the start point, each participant will be issued a start card, which must be signed and personally presented at the control points for stamping.  The individual start cards will be turned in at the finish table after completing the event.

Directions to start point:  Metro is recommended as parking is limited along streets.  Metro to DuPoint Circle Station.  Exit station using Connecticut Ave & 19th St NW - DuPont Circle South exit.  Exit onto street level.  Walk a short distance on Q to DuPont Circle NW.  Sharp left onto Connectitcut Ave NW; Walk about 1 block SE on Connecticut Ave NW.  Panera Bread will be located on your left.
