About This Activity

Calling all superheroes! Join forces with the Homeless Children's Playtime Project and tackle a 5K to defend the right for all children to play, regardless of housing status. On race day, participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite real-life or fictional superhero. There will be pre- and post-race fun and games and opportunities to learn more about the Playtime Project and how you can be involved.

Event registration includes a race shirt and all proceeds from the Defender of Play 5K benefit the Homeless Children's Playtime Project. Our mission is to nurture healthy child development and reduce the effects of trauma among children living in temporary housing programs in Washington D.C. Through eighteen weekly children’s programs, staff and volunteers create safe spaces for children from infants to teenagers to express, relate, and find validation.
