About This Activity

Calling on all super heroes and heroines to join forces and tackle a 5K Fun Run and Walk to celebrate playtime and moms.  The strength, teamwork and dedication to complete this challenge is the ultimate expression of play and devotion to our moms – the original super heroines. As super hero and heroines, we are also doing our part to raise awareness about the importance of playtime and exploration for children. Are you up for the challenge?

On race day, runners are encouraged to dress up as their favorite super hero or heroine or even a character that they create. There will be pre and post-race family fun-filled activities and games and an opportunity to support and learn more about the Playtime Project and how you and your family can be involved.

The Defender of Play 5K is a fun run fundraiser for the Homeless Children's Playtime Project, who believes that play a human right that all children deserve, regardless of housing status. Our volunteers go into homeless shelters to provide kids living there healthy and active play opportunities.
