About This Activity

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Xi Omega Chapter in collaboration with the Pearl and Ivy Foundation, Inc. with host the second annual Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education. Runners and walkers will take on this challenging, timed 5K on Sunday, September 14th.

Norma Boyd was a native Washingtonian who spent her 97 years dedicated to educational and humanitarian pursuits for children. Ms. Boyd was a founder of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a charter member of Xi Omega Chapter.

Additional Information

The Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education packet pickup will be available the morning of the race. All participants must pick up their packets prior to the race start between 7:15 a.m. and 8:00 am.

Event details and schedule

Race Start: 8:00am

Registration Fees:

Registration $30 thru June 1 – June 30;

Registration $35 July 1 – July 31;

Registration $40 August 1 – September 13.

Registration is free for Youth 16-18 years old, who volunteer the day of the race. Youth volunteers will receive community service hours.

Race Day Parking:

Please use Colorado Avenue (from 16th St) to park at Grove 24/ Tennis Center. Beach Drive is closed to traffic on weekends south of Joyce Rd & Ross Dr. Stage Rd is closed to traffic on race morning. Morrow Rd will close to traffic at 7:45 on race morning.

Cancellation Policy:

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Xi Omega Chapter does not offer refunds, rollovers, credits or transfers at anytime. All registrations are final.
