UCAN5K Training Program
About This Activity
Join us for an 8-week in-person training program that will prepare you to cross the finish line of the Women's Distance Festival 5K, Saturday, July 13, 2019, Congers, NY (Rockland County)! Designed with the beginner runner in mind, this gradual, walk-to-run program is perfect for first-time runners or those who are coming back to the sport after a layoff. While participation in the 5K is not mandatory, it's highly recommended (race registration is NOT included in the training fee). #strongertogether!
Weekly meet-ups (Saturday mornings, 7:30-8:30 am) will take place at the Ridgewood Duck Pond on the following Saturdays:
5/18, 5/25, 6/1, 6/8, 6/15, 6/22, 6/29, 7/6
Please note--while weekly attendance is encouraged, it is NOT mandatory. Weekly workouts will be delivered via email--along with unlimited email support.
Cost is $75 for 8-week training program and includes: 8 weeks of professional group run coaching, team tech shirt, JWS team membership through 8/31/19 (with an option to extend through 12/31/19 at a discounted rate), private Facebook group access, unlimited email support from Coach Dana, plus top-notch motivation and support from northern NJ's largest all women's running, walking and multi-sport group.
Please note, registration for the Women's Distance Festival 5K is NOT included with your UCAN5K registration fee. You will complete 5K registration separately.
In addition to in-person sessions, workout schedules will be emailed weekly and are designed for individuals with limited to no running experience. Daily Facebook support will include wellness-related information, nutrition tips and motivational posts, along with unlimited question/answer opportunities.

What is the time requirement? You will be given three walk/run workouts per week and are encouraged to work in cross-training when you can. Walk/run workouts take no more than 40 minutes
