About This Activity

The Hungry Buzzard Century is a challenging century with nearly 8,000' of climbing! After leaving Cutler Park, you'll warm up the legs on Rocky Hill as you make your way to Lemon Cove. Next, follow the 3/4 century route up Dry Creek on into Eshom Valley as you continue up an ambitious climb to Hartland. You'll find amazing panoramas throughtout this section. Continue climbing through Hartland to Whitaker Forest Road where you'll begin your first descent to Hogback, then it's up again to beautiful, forested Pinehurst where you begin a well-deserved final descent down Highway 245 back to the valley and Cutler Park. This route is loaded with challenging climbs and fantastic vistas. There are 6 rest/water stops on this route--but don't stop too long, for the buzzards are hungry and they will be watching!

The Mountain House Three-Quarter Century--An intermediate length ride (75 miles) with some serious climbing. Enjoy gentle terrain until things get challenging as you ascend Dry Creek followed by Stagecoach Drive. After a rest stop, you'll tacke a stair-step climb to Sierra Glen as you make your way to Mountain House, a local landmark. Your reward for climbing will be great vistas and a long, sweeping descent down Highway 245 on the return leg. This ride includes 4,000' of climbing with 5 rest/water stops.

The Rocky Hill Half Century--A 50-mile route for the beginning rider ready for a bit more of a challenge. Riders follow the first leg of the century route over local landmark Rocky Hill and then through the rolling hills, orchards, and beautiful scenery surrounding Lemon Cove and Woodlake. This ride includes approximately 500' of climbing and two rest stops.

The Venice Hills 40 or 25--Choose one of two great beginner rides. Pedal through beautiful rolling hills and orchards, and along the St. John's River, which skirts the Venice Hills, on this memorable local ride. One rest stop on the 25-mile route and two rest stops on the 40-mile route.
