About This Activity

-Post-race festival with music and food from local restaurants and vendors!
-Long sleeve moisture wicking shirts for runners pre-registered by October 1st.
-Flat and fast course with very few turns and intersections.
-Water stations on the course and energy gels at halfway party

-Top three overall male and female finishers, Athena, Clydesdale, top male and female masters (ages 40+), and top three finishers in each age group: 14 & Under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 & Over.
-Finisher medals for all participants.

All race proceeds go to the United Way of Porter County’s high school council, the Power of Youth. Recognizing the teen self-esteem epidemic, the council funds community youth self-esteem programs.

Packet Pick Up
Advanced packet pick up will be available at The Extra Mile Fitness Co. located at 1330 E. Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN on Friday, October 21st from 11AM - 7PM and Saturday October 22nd from Noon - 5PM. Race day packet pick up will be in the post-party tent on the Ivy Tech Campus lawn from 7AM - 8:15AM.

Participant and Spectator Parking
Ample parking will be available at the Ivy Tech Campus located across from the start/finish and registration areas. Ivy Tech is located at 3100 Ivy Tech Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383. Access to the race site will only be available from the North off of Route 2 via Eastport Center Dr. beginning at 7:30AM and for the duration of the event on race day.

Time Limit
There is a 3 1/2 hour time limit on the course. The course will shut down at 12pm, including the closing of water stops and the removal of the sag vehicle. Any runner can chose to finish the course after closing, but does so at their own risk. All finishers will recieve a medal.

Spectator Viewing
The Valpo Half Marathon Course allows spectators the opportunity to see their runners several times during the event. The runners loop past the start/finish line in the first two miles of the race. Once the field has past the start/finish area, vehicular access to the race site is available from the north on Eastport Center Drive for the duration of the event. Spectators are welcome to leave the start/finish area, grab a coffee or a quick breakfast, and head over to CR N 450E to see their athlete at the 5.5 mile point. Athletes can also be seen from CR N 600 E.
