About This Activity
Make your Monday count! Vail's Memorial Day half-marathon and 5-mile run/walk has expanded to include a full marathon and marathon relay in 2014. The Vail Valor Family Run (1-mile) remains an affordable and fun way to get everyone together to celebrate fitness and pay tribute to our nation's heroes. Don't miss this Memorial Day celebration in the mountains. Spring temps & stunning Gore Range views. Post-race brunch, technical t-shirt, and Valor finisher medal to all runners. Course Description: Monday's races are alll on paved surfaces. Moderate terrain through residential neighborhoods and along Vail Bike Path. Rolling hills and scenic panorama highlight this East Vail course.
New: Marathoners will do the half marathon course twice. While we had hoped to add some dirt road to the mix, the late spring snows have forced us to stay low and 100% on roads. There will be a transition/drop bag area at the finish line of the half marathon for marathon runners to access personal items before heading out on stage two (repeat of the half marathon route). The course will be well-marked with plentiful aid stations along the way. Last year's sunshine & snowcapped Gore Range views made for a spectacular day. While we guarantee another memorable event, weather can be unpredictable so plan accordingly.
