The 5K walk and run follow a route with gentle inclines and declines, covering gravel and dirt paths. The 10K route is more difficult and incorporates more changes in elevation and terrain. Whichever route you take, the scenery will lead you to believe you’re on vacation!
The staff at Stony Creek Metropark regularly grooms the trails. However, this is an off-road event, so you want to come prepared with proper footwear that is already broken in. Children in strollers are welcome, though you want to prepare for terrain. Please make sure you bring astroller equipped for off-road conditions. Also, consider the weather. We’re going rain or shine!
What to Bring
We will provide water for event participants at aid stations along the routes. We will also have bananas at the end of the route. Please bring a personal supply of water or food if you have specific requirements. Also, consider bringing camping chairs, since seating is limited. Insect repellant and sunscreen may be useful, depending on conditions. You may also want to take advantage of other park amenities, so please plan accordingly.
