Pumice Man double triathlon
Sun, Jun 7, 2015
Tygh Valley, OR
Triathlon-Olympic - Individual Age group/open
About This Activity
Part of the Pine Hollow Tri, the Pumice Man is the only double triathlon in the Northwest. The course covers the same 750 meter open-water swim, 15K road bike, and 5K run as the Pine Hollow Triathlon, except all the legs are done twice, in this order: Swim, Bike, Run, Swim, Bike, Run. Each leg is only a Sprint in distance, but the double triathlon format makes it more challenging and more fun than an Olympic distance triathlon. There is only one transition area, so that part is easy: the first run ends at the transition area for the second swim, and the second run turns into the campground to end at the finish. The first swim is a simple triangulation, and the second swim is just an out and back around the same buoy from the transition area.
Also, every finisher gets a hand-crafted medal, and overall winners win one-of-a-kind hand-crafted trophies. Always the day after the Pine Hollow Paddle, we invite you to spend the weekend to get the whole Experience, including karaoke at Angler's Restaurant and Lounge.
