About This Activity
Kappa Delta- Beta Psi, an organization that works on building confidence and inspiring action in others. We also are extremely invested in spreading awareness for Prevent Child Abuse America which engages in work that is innovative and forward-thinking, that works towards creating healthier, and happier, futures for children, their families and the country as a whole.
This year, I personally invite you to participate in Kappa Delta’s first philanthropy, on Saturday April 4th - 9th. As a leading organization here in Tempe, we can show how much our organizations cares for our community. With your support we will be helping children, their familes across the country and here in Arizona
To give you a better sense of what your support will make possible:
+ In 2013, an estimated 670,000 children were victims of abuse and neglect
+ According to NCANDS, in 2005, 79.4 percent of perpetrators were parents and 6.8 percent were other relatives.
+ Maltreatment can take many forms, and some children can suffer from more than one type. The following are the percentages of children who experienced maltreatment in 2005:
Physical Abuse 16.6%
Sexual Abuse 9.3%
Emotional/psychological abuse 7.1%
Medical neglect 2%
Child abuse —no matter the type or scale— all bring with them devastation. And the moments following abuse are extremely important. Fueled by generosity in all senses of the word, Kappa Delta works tirelessly to provide for the needs of education to the nation and survivors, helping them regain some sense of safety and normalcy as quickly as possible.
We hope that you will help these efforts through your support of our 5k run this year
The ladies of Kappa Delta Sorority at the Arizona State University are extremely excited to present our newest Spring philanthropy benefiting Prevent Child Abuse America!
