About This Activity
Join us in the Inaugural Edition of the “Run For The American Dream 5K Run/1M Walk” a competitive run and walk sports event that will bring numerous people together in a family oriented day at the park, full of entertainment and aimed to collect funds for the only purpose of helping our community to pursue the American Dream!!
100% of all registration fees and donations go directly to the HUD counseling housing agency Solita’s House Inc. Our generous sponsors underwrite all the expenses associated with the race!
The Post Race Celebration & Awards Presentation will feature live musical entertainment, Prizes, Food and LOTS of fun for all ages!
The musical fun begins at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K & 1 Mile Awards Presentation at 9:30 a.m…with more…LOTS MORE fun and music to follow.

Can I register on Race Day?
Early registration is encouraged, but you can register on race morning. Race Day registrations will not be timed in any of the races.
Can I pick up someone else’s packet?
Yes, you can – all you need is the name of the participant(s).
Are jogging strollers allowed?
Due to our insurance policy, jogging strollers are not permitted to run in the race, but we welcome all strollers to walk the 1-mile course. We do ask that strollers line up near the back.
Do I need to register my child if they are in a stroller or wagon?
Can I switch from one event to another?
What time should I get there on race day?
Participants are encouraged to arrive earlier than 7 a.m. to avoid street closures along the race route. Expect traffic congestion along adjacent streets to Al Lopez Park. We encourage arriving from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. for last day registration. See Race Parking map at our website at www.solitashouse.com
Can I bring my pet?
Sorry – no pets allowed in the Race/ Pavilion or out on the course.
Where should I park?
The Al Lopez parking lot and other parking lots around the Bucks Stadium all have easy access to the Race Village.
Al Lopez Park has plenty of free parking available. If the main lot is full, parking attendants will be on hand to direct you to alternative lots located next to the Bucks Stadium.
Where is the start and finish line?
The Start and Finish line is adjacent to Pavilion number 7.
What happens if it rains?
The race will happen, rain or shine. Race Directors reserve the right to cancel in severe weather conditions. Check the website for updates.
Where do I wear my race bib?
Race bibs should be pinned on the front with the number visible.PLEASE NOTE: Refunds and/or transfers of registration are NOT allowed in the American Dream 5K &1Mile walk.
5K & 1 Mile participants will receive an Official 2015 Performance Race Shirt**, a goodie bag, Post-Race Food & Beverages, and for those that cross the Finish Line, a 2015 Finisher’s Medal and a personalized Virtual Finisher’s Certificate (a valid email address MUST be provided with registration).
Participants that register online after February 22, 2015, or wait to register during Race Weekend Late Registration will not be guaranteed a performance shirt and/or correct sized shirt.
Packet Pick Up
American Dream 5K & 1 Mile Walk Race Packet, T-shirt and Race Number Pick-Up will take place at Solita's House Inc 3101 East 7th Ave, Tampa, FL 33605 on Friday, March 6, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., and on Saturday, March 7, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are not able to attend the Expo and pick-up your Race Number, a Race Number Pick-Up Authorization Note must be submitted, signed and presented by whomever WILL be picking up for you.
Participants will be timed utilizing Electronic Timing System Technology, developed and designed with frequency identification.
PLEASE NOTE – Overall Results (Top 5) will be according to order of finish; Age Group Results will be according to Net Time.
American Dream 5K Awards, along with gift certificates will be given to the top male and female winners in the Overall category. American Dream 5K Home Key Awards will be given to the men, women and youths who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the following age divisions:
