About This Activity

Come on out and race the seventh annual Tri the Rez! Support the Triathlon Club at FSU and the love of triathlon in the community.

The venue for Tri the Rez is the FSU Reservation. The triathlon consists of a .33 mile swim, 14 mile bike and 5k run. The swim is held in the waters of Lake Bradford. The bike heads towards, and through, the Apalachicola National Forest. The run leaves the FSU Reservation and travels around Lake Bradford before returning to the FSU Reservation for the finish.

A relay option will be available this year and make sure you stick around after the race for awards, a wide variety of post race snacks, pictures, and awesome services provided by our sponsors.

To ensure a spot sign up soon as there is a 700-participant limit!

Event details and schedule

Packet Pickup – Packet pick up is available on Friday, October 2nd at Capital City Runners, 1817 Thomasville Road. Please remember to bring your photo ID and USAT card or proof of registration/purchase of your one-day license with you. You must pick up your own packet in person. If you cannot make it Friday evening, packet pick up is available race morning on site, beginning at 6:00am.

Parking - Please be aware that parking is very limited inside the FSU Reservation. If you arrive early enough to secure a parking spot inside the Rez, please be aware you will not be able to move your car until the conclusion of the race. Parking will be available along Longleaf Road, which is the roadway to the left of the Lake Bradford church as you face the FSU Reservation. Please park in the grass, off the side of the road. Please DO NOT park in private residence yards and on Lake Bradford as you head towards Capital Circle and we do NOT have the church parking lot this year. I encourage you to arrive early for the best parking. There will be volunteers on hand directing you to the parking areas.

Bike Course - Please be aware that although we have volunteers and several FHP officers on the bike course, the course is still open to traffic. Exercise caution on the roadways and at intersections. This sprint course is the SAME as last year’s bike course. You will do a turn in the middle of the road, exercise extreme caution! You may want to unclip.

WHEN YOU ENTER THE RESERVATION UPON YOUR RETURN, ENTER ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE GUARD GATE – RUNNERS WILL BE EXITING ON YOUR RIGHT HAND SIDE. Enter extreme caution when re-entering the transition area. There will be volunteers on the course directing you. There is no water on the bike course – please bring your own hydration and nutrition.

Run Course – The run course is all on road. You will run out of transition and turn left through the guard gates. RUNNERS SHOULD STAY ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD EXITING THE FSU RESERVATION. You will turn left on Lake Bradford and then left on Lakeview. You will turnaround by the Tallahassee Museum. The course will be well marked with ample volunteers. Aid stations will be at mile 1, 2 and at the finish line.
