About This Activity

The DEER RUN RACE FOR EDUCATION is a fun family and community oriented event that raises money for education at Deerlake Middle School.  The 5K and 1M fun run/walk both start at Deerlake Middle School and then take you onto shaded Deerlake Road and into surrounding wooded neighborhoods.  There is always lots of good food, music and entertainment provided by the students and supporters for the entire family to enjoy!

Event details and schedule

The Deer Run Race For Education will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Deerlake Middle School (9902 Deerlake West, Tallahassee, FL 32312). Beginning promptly at 8am, there is a 5K race that starts in the DMS bus loading area and then winds along Deerlake road and into surrounding shaded neighborhoods.  Awards for the 5K include top male/female overall finishers and top 3 males/females in 5 year age groups starting with 9 years and under, male/female masters, male/female grand masters.  At 9am, there is also a 1Mile fun run/walk which takes walkers/runners quickly into a shaded neighborhood for an out and back run.  Awards for the 1m run/walk will be given to the top 3 male/female finishers.  In addition, there will be lots of good food, music and entertainment for the whole family. Pre-registration and registration on race day are available.  Please arrive early and look for parking attendants to direct you into appropriate designated parking areas.  If registering early, please bring registration form/signed waiver and ID.  Dress comfortably, wear running/walking shoes and be prepared to have A LOT OF FUN!!
