America’s Mighty Warriors (AMW), a 501c3 non-profit organization, was founded by Ms. Debbie Lee in honor of her son, Marc Alan Lee, the first Navy SEAL killed in Iraq, August 2, 2006. In his last letter home Marc urges his family and friends to “pass on the love, the kindness, the precious gift of human life.” These words define the organization, which supports veterans and their families in honor of Marc, his letter, his love of humanity, and his passion for life.
623Strong is a partner and supporter of AMW, and will begin a tradition in the home city of Ms. Debbie Lee with the 1st Annual AMW Fitness Challenge. The event is comprised of four seperate endurance and fitness competitions for particpants to choose from. the purpose of the event is to support AMW and provide participatants the opportunity to honor our veterans, from the past, present and future, especially remembering those that paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The fitness events include a 5K run/walk around the Surprise Recreation Campus, a Spalsh & Dash event, and two versions of a fitness competition called the Marc Lee Challenge that require participants to swim 150M, run 1 mile, and complete a series of fitness movements that include 14 Rounds of 8 Cleans, 2 Push Press, and 6 Burpees (representing Marc Lee's call number Charlie One Four, and the date of his passing, August 2, 2006). The challenge strives to test the physical and mental determination of each participatant, remembering that the pain endured during the workout is nothing compared to the sacrifices of Marc Alan Lee and all of those that have served in our Armed Forces. The winner of the competition will be honored, along with AMW Founder Ms. Debbie Lee, in the City of Surprises First Annual Veterans Day Parade.
Whether you particpate in the 5K, Splash and Dash, or the Marc Lee Challenge, all will be supporting the vision and mission of AMW, honoring those that protect our country and our way of life.
