About This Activity

The Gears and Steers Ride for Hospice is ideally situated in the heart of the Triad. This beautiful ride from Summerfield Farm takes you on country roads where the pavement is nice and the hills are rolling. The Gears and Steers Ride for Hospice has 25, 40 and 62-mile (metric century) options. Each distance is fully supported with well stocked aid stations. The Metric begins at 8:00 AM, 40-mile at 8:30 & the 25-mile ride at 9:00 AM. The post-ride party, with silent auction, begins at 12:00 PM and goes until 5:00PM. 100% of your registration fee goes directly to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro!

Start/finish: Summerfield Farms, 3203 Pleasant Ridge Rd. Summerfield, NC 27358       

Registration Fee: $35.00 pre-registered & $45.00 day of event (100% of the registration fee goes to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro)

Route Options: 25 miles, 40 miles and 62 miles (metric century)

Age Minimum: Riders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Fundraising: Riders have the opportunity to fundraise on their own for Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro—online donations or checks payable to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.

Description: The Gears and Steers Ride for Hospice is ideally situated in the heart of the Triad. This beautiful ride from Summerfield Farm takes you on country roads where the pavement is nice and the hills are rolling. The Gears and Steers Ride for Hospice has 25, 40 and 62-mile (metric century) options. Each distance is fully supported with mechanics and well stocked aid stations. The Metric begins at 8:00 AM, the 40 mile at 8:30 AM & the 25-mile ride at 9:00 AM. The post-ride party starts at 12:00 PM and goes until 5:00PM.

All cyclists get the following: well-supported and well-stocked aid stations on the route and access to the post-ride celebration which includes water & soda, 1 beer (after the ride—21 & over), and music. There will be a limited number of lunches, beer and T-shirts available for purchase (all proceeds go to HPCG) for riders who miss the order deadline or who sign-up on event day—first come, first serve…. We will have complementary post-ride massage.

  • This event is a supported ride, not a raceObey all traffic laws, stop signs, etc.
  • All cyclists must wear a helmetAll riders must sign a liability waiver on site
  • Be courteous to drivers (we are guests in the community)Ride to the right and in single file as much as possible
  • No ID, No beer No headphones while you ride
  • HAVE FUN!Please, no behavior you wouldn't want your mom to see or hear

7:00 AM to 9:00 AM day-of registration & rider bib # pick-up at Summerfield Farms

8:00 AM Metric start, 8:30 AM 40-mile start & 9:00 AM 25-mile start

12:00 PM to 5:00 PM lunch, music, beer & silent auction & rider prize drawing
