About This Activity

Runners, walkers, kids and pets are all encouraged to join us for a festive Cornucopia 5k around UConn's beautiful campus!  The UConn Student American Physical Therapy Association (SAPTA) is hosting the Cornucopia 5k on Sunday, September 21st in conjuction with Cornucopia Fest hosted by the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources. The run will take place at UConn's beautiful Storrs campus.   The start and finish will be located near the festival, and the course will take you past Gampel pavillion, the new basketball training facility and more! Following the race, participants will be able to paint pumpkins with SAPTA as well as munch on free Wally's Chicken Coop Catering.  Runners, friends and family are also welcome to explore the free Cornucopia fest which features a guided hike of the UConn forest, hayrides, polo match, BBQ, UConn Dairy Bar ice cream, gardening tips and more! Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers. Winners will get to choose from a variety of prizes including but not limited to: gift cards from local businesses (Lunch for 2 at Dog Lane Cafe, Sweet Emotions Candy Store, Sgt Pepperoni Pizza ) and trophies.  The first 100 registered for the race will receive a race t-shirt*.  Prices for registration increase on September 7th so sign up early! Race proceeds will benefit the UConn SAPTA organization which works to advance the profession of physical therapy, and this 5k will help provide further education funding, awareness, and career support for current and future members.

Event details and schedule

Day-of registration and sign in begins at 11am.  The race will kick off at 12pm.

If you are a UConn student, be sure to bring a valid UConn ID to get appropriate pricing.

The course utilizes UConn's beautiful campus. The race will be run on an open course.  All proper pedestrian rules of the road should be adhered to as there will be no road closures for this event. Maps of the course will be available on race day at the registration table.

Check in and registration: The registration table will be held at the Cornucopia festival.  Our table will be set up next to Elizabeth Hicks Residence Hall in the School of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resouces green space.  Please use the interactive UConn maps if you are unfamiliar with the campus and be sure to follow the signs for Cornucopia

Parking: Follow the signs for Cornucopia parking which will direct visitors to the lot behind the yellow barn, the Young building lot, and along Horsebarn Hill Road. All are a 3-5 min walk over to the start of the race.  The start of the race will be across the street (rt 195) in between the Beach Hall and Holcombe Residence Hall.  Please use the interactive UConn maps if you are unfamiliar with the campus  With this all said, you may park anywhere on campus as long as you follow the posted signage (most lots are available to the public on Sundays).  For garage parking check this link: .  Do not hesitate to contact us with specific questions.
