About This Activity
Join us for our inaugural 5K Run /Walk on Saturday, October 11th at 8am at the majestic Stone Mountain, just outside of Atlanta, our home base. The event kicks off the Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) October Awareness month. By “Legging it for Lewy," you are supporting the Lewy Body Dementia Association, a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit health organization dedicated to raising awareness of the disease, supporting people with LBD, their families and caregivers, and promoting scientific advances. www.lbda.org
Event details and schedule
Course info: The 5K route is along the base of the mountain following Old 78 West; Left on Robert E. Lee to the turnaround point then back towards the Triangle Lot. Water stations, bathrooms and volunteers will be available throughout the course.
Arrive by: 7:30am; scheduled to end at 11:30am
Registration: At event check-in, registrants will receive race bags, confirm receipt of registrant waivers, join their team members and prepare for the walk to begin.
Start time: The runners will take off promptly at 8:30am, walkers will depart immediately after the last runner departs.
Parking: $10 pay lot for those without a Stone Mountain annual parking pass.
What to wear: Athletic attire and appropriate shoes. LBDA t-shirts and anything purple encouraged! Be prepared for weather elements as the event will take place rain or shine.
