About This Activity

Delight in the Lord Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded by Cierra Crowe. Cierra visited Uganda, Africa, for three months on a mission trip during the summer of 2015, and she fell in love with Uganda’s culture and people. Since returning to Uganda in February 2016, God has provided many opportunities for Cierra and the ministry. She is investing in the lives of four boys: Charles (14), Joshua (11), Jeofrey (10), and Denes (4), by providing a Christian home with spiritual, emotional and physical support, teaching God’s truths and most importantly His love, grace and salvation through His Son, and securing educational sponsorships for the boys. Cierra continues to learn the local language, Luganda, and her boys are learning more and more English. The ministry also serves a low standard primary school by providing rice and beans or posho and beans for approximately 70 children out of 130 enrolled students Monday through Friday during each school term. Cierra ministers to the children by reading Bible stories and sharing the love of Christ and provides assistance to the teachers as needed.

Event details and schedule

The New Year’s Resolution Run/Walk 5K takes place at the W.W. Mann Center.  The route is a cross country style course running on natural surfaces of grass and trail terrain. It is mostly flat except for a couple of inclines along the path. It has been measured to be as close to a 5K (3.1 Miles) as possible. If by chance there have been recent rains, the area could have some mud and/or standing water, so dress appropriately based on weather conditions. This is a great run for the entire family to support Cierra Crowe and her ministry in Uganda, Africa.
