About This Activity

This FUNdraising 5K Run is one of the Starkville Mayor's Youth Council's - Community Service Projects.  It is used to raise awareness of Leukemia and its affect on communities in addition to providing support to a Leukemia patient in our community.  This FUN RUN depicts her spirit and strength since being diagnosed with leukemia last year.  The run takes place along a  beautiful scenic route.  It begins at the 1st Presbyterian Church parking lot on University Dr. going east toward the beautiful Campus of Mississippi State University, through the New Orleans style decor of Starkville's famous Cotton District.  The route takes you through one of the City's Historic Districts with its massive tree lined streets and stately homes and along the way will pass afront two of Starkville's Historic churches and Oktibbeha County Courthouse before returning to 1st Presbyterian Church.

Event schedule and times

This event will begin at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, 5/3/2014.  There will be ON-SITE REGISTRATION!!! beginning at 7:30 a.m. until 7:50 a.m.

Parking is available alongside and behind the church.

This run makes a loop eastward through the Cotton District; making a right turn into the Comfort Inn Parking Lot to go west on Russell Street.  There's a slight left turn onto Gillespie Street. At the intersection of Gillespie Street and Louisville Street, the route then, turns north onto Louisville Street, then turning east on Greensboro Street, North on Meigs Street then east again onto Main Street, the route ends at the Presbyterian Church.

Packet Pickups are available throughout the race.  You will be provided an opportunity to support the Youth Council's fundraising efforts at the end of the run.
