About This Activity

This 2nd annual 5k and 10K benefit fun run are being hosted by the Safe Harbor Free Clinic in Stanwood - the only free medical clinic betwwen Seattle and the Canadian border - and the Boscovet Project - a non profit that works alongside poor rural farmers in western Kenya providing free veterinary services, clean water, micro-finance, and early childhood education.

The event course is flat.  The 5K course is on the streets and park grounds of Stanwood.  The 10K course extends onto a road that runs through farm fields in west stanwood - "Lover's Lane".  The runs will be timed and prizes awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in each run.  In addition, every male and female runner placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their age category will receive a ribbon.

The event was a success last year with food and beverages enjoyed at the finish line. Participants last year commented on what a well run event it was especially for an inaugural run. Many thanks go to the Skagit Runners Club for supporting and helping out with this event.  Come and support a great couple of causes while enjoying the fresh air of north Snohomish County.  If you wish to get in the spirit of the season - wear a Halloween costume.  A prize will also be awarded to the best costume in the child and adult category.

Event details and schedule

Registration is available on site the day of the race but we encourage you to pre-register on line.  Registration and packets will be available in the fellowship hall of the church starting at 8:30 AM.  The fun run will start at 10 AM. The start finish line will be at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with a loop through historic Stanwood.  The 10K will follow this path but then continue on coursing through the farm fields west of Stanwood before returning to the church where food and beverages await you.  There is plenty of parking available.
