About This Activity

Taliesin, the home, studio and estate of Frank Lloyd Wright, is in Spring Green, Wisconsin. It is the name of Wright’s home as well as the 800-acre campus that includes buildings from nearly every decade of his career. Taliesin was Wright’s primary residence for 48 years from 1911 to 1959. It was his laboratory for architectural designs and innovation, and continues to serve the Taliesin community. The non-profit Taliesin Preservation is the steward of Taliesin and is responsible for its preservation as well as public programming highlighting Wright's architecture and ideas.

Wisconsin's Driftless Region has become a mecca for foodies, architecture buffs, and cyclists craving a challenge and a hearty dose of scenic beauty. Taliesin Preservation unveils a new ride inviting cyclists to explore a broad swath of Frank Lloyd Wright territory, starting and ending at his 800-acre Wisconsin River estate, that will offer a challenging ride as well as a memorable gourmet experience.

Tour du Taliesin features two different ticketing levels and two different route distances. The MASTER ticketing level helps advance Taliesin Preservation's mission with a generous charitable contribution — and includes a Taliesin-designed bike jersey. The APPRENTICE ticketing level supports Taliesin Preservation with a charitable contribution — and includes a pair of Taliesin-designed riding socks. There are two cycle routes to choose from: The 38 Mile ride and The 100 Mile ride.

The 38 Mile will cover 38 miles of paved roads with over 1,361 vertical feet of climbing. The 100 Mile is a true century ride and will cover 100 miles of paved roads with over 6,245 vertical feet of climbing.

Join us for an after-party at Tan-y-Deri Hill, which has resplendent view of Taliesin and some intimate out-of-the-way areas of the estate. Enjoy local beer and seasonal fare grown right here at Taliesin.

A limited number of Taliesin house tours are also available for an additional cost. (Advance reservations will be required.)
