Remembered Forever Memorial
Sergeant Earl Alfred (1940- 1975) Sergeant Alfred had served with the Slidell Police Department for 5 years. Sergeant Earl Alfred was shot and killed while responding to a robbery call at a jewelry store. Third street where the Police Station is located was renamed Sergeant Alfred Drive in his honor. He is remembered annually immediately prior to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. march. The march is historically organized by the Ministerial Alliance of Greater St. Tammany (MAGST) and begins on the front lawn of the Slidell Police Department. There is a tremendous civic need to have a permanent and respectful rallying point for the yearly ceremonial event commemorating the life and sacrifice of Sergeant Earl Alfred. The beautiful granite monument will also stand ready to add any additional names of future Slidell Police Officers that may be killed in the line of duty.We are reaching to our local community to assist us in achieving the necessary funds for this memorial.
