Sugarworks Trail Run

About This Activity
Join us as RaceVermont.com hits the trail in the 2nd annual Sugarworks Trail Run at Shelburne Sugarworks and Four Season Outdoor Center. We're making significant changes to how we're going to run this race (no pun intended). Steve, from Shelburne Sugarworks has created a brand new 5K loop - not the same course we have used in the past that you had to run twice, but a continuous 5K loop. We will be offering that course along with the original 2.5K course with the goal of keeping distance between our runners. Choose to run or run/walk the 2.5K race, or run the 5K. The course is a rolling hills run/walk through the woods on the beautiful trail system that Shelburne Sugarworks has developed. There are no huge uphill runs, but it's not totally flat. Racers may either race in-person with the group on Saturday, August 8, or virtually (any time between noon on 8/8 and 8/31/2020) AT Shelburne Sugarworks, or virtually from anywhere between August 8 - 31. Racers can present their race bib at Shelburne Sugarworks for a free hand crafted maple ice cream cone. Flavors are to be determined on race day.
Because of the logistics of keeping our racers safely distant, we will begin this race at 8:00 am rather than at 9:00, and regrettably the kids' race will be cancelled for 2020.
New rules will apply. For example,
face masks will be required immediately before and after the race - with the exception of when you're enjoying your amazing hand crafted maple ice cream cone after the race - yup! We're giving you permission to eat ice cream in the early morning!
You will need to keep some distance between you and the nearest runner. The trails are at least 6' wide, so you will need to keep as far to the left when you pass as possible, with runners keeping right at all times.
Please familiarize yourself with our race rules and COVID-19 procedures prior to the race. We really appreciate your patience, flexibility, and willingness to follow the rules to keep everyone safe.
