If you missed the inaugural Sugarhouse Snowshoe race last year, you missed such a fun race! You'll be treated to a beautiful run through the sugar grove followed by festivities at the Shelburne Sugarworks. If mother nature cooperates, this will be a snowshoe race. Otherwise, it will be a 1.5 run/walk or 3.1 mile run. If you're new to running in snowshoes or to snowshoes in general, you may want to run/walk just one loop for 1.5 miles. If you're more experienced, do the loop twice for a 5K run. Either way, we'll start and finish at Shelburne Sugarworks where there's bound to be some sugaring in the works!
SkiRack will be on hand with demo snowshoes for children and adults. If you would like to try a set for the race, please arrive early. SkiRack will be assigning the snowshoes on a first come first served basis. Please try to bring a pair - your own or borrowed from a friend just in case SkiRack is out of snowshoes by the time you arrive. We cannot guarantee that SkiRack will still have a pair for you and/or your family.
Just prior to the race, we will be offering a short (200-300 yard) race for kids. This portion of the race will be free. No awards or shirts will be involved with this "fun run" snowshoe event.
This race is part of the Sugar & Snowshoe Festival hosted by Shelburne Sugarworks and 4-Season Outdoor Center, and sponsored by SkiRack and Racevermont.com. After the race, stick around for maple hot dogs, sugar on snow, guided tours and more. This is a great family event!
Guarantee yourself a t-shirt, by registering and ordering no later than 7:00 am on Monday, February 16. After that, shirts will be available while supplies last. This year, these shirts will be super-soft cotton/poly t-shirts. The cost is $15/shirt.
