Run for the Trails was started in 2001. Although not the first running event held in Seville, it has existed the longest, celebrating it's 17th edition this Labor Day. The 5K course starts in the shadow of an historic brick Methodist Church, follows a paved hike/bike trail along a stream and through a village park before a downhill finish at Maria Stanhope Park. The race/walk was founded to raise funds to build hike/bike trails in the village. Run for the Trails, Inc., in conjunction with the Village of Seville, continues to work toward the goal of expanding the existing trail.
