About This Activity

~ Wheelin 2 Freedom 5k ~
This is a special 5k honoring Hernan Feliciano and his goal.  Hernan graduated in 2001 from Selinsgrove School District. He now resides in Sunbury. In 2005, Hernan got into a car accident.  He entered his car walking and left the crash quadriplegic. With the many struggles he faces, one is independence of going places.  We as a community are coming together to help him in his fight to gain freedom.  Maybe not of his wheelchair, but freedom to travel.  The handicap van that runs throughout town has limited days and times.  Hernan has missed many special events and occasions because of this!  We are trying to raise enough money in hopes that Hernan can purchase a van that is handicap accessible.  A van he can call his own.  Of the many things we take for granted, one is the luxury of going from place to place.  Going to the mall, grocery store, a friend’s house, visiting family, eating at a restaurant, and so many more.  To be able to go wherever and whenever is a priceless gift we can give Hernan.  All are welcome to this event.  You don't have to be a runner to partcipate..you can walk, jog, or run.  Bring your family and friends and come together for this great cause! Together we can do big things! *** Go to http://www.runningmap.com/?id=685389 to view the map of the route.  ***Event will start and finish at Elementary School.  Both High School and Elementary School Parking Lots can be used for parking.  *Chip Timing Provided by: PARunners.com *After event snack for participants provided by: Panera and Middleswarth *Water provided by: Target * All early registrations will receive a t-shirt *
