About This Activity
Have you ever wanted to see inside the walls of a castle? Well, you don’t have travel all the way to Westeros to do that! Or have you ever wondered what it’s like to be crowned king or queen? Your name doesn’t have to be Lannister or Baratheon to find out! In fact, you don’t even have to be a fan of Game of Thrones to understand that The Elk Run 5K at Cherokee Ranch & Castle in Sedalia, CO, will give you the chance to do all of this and more!
On Saturday, Aug. 15, you can enter the realm of a 1450s Scottish-style castle that sits on 3,400 acres of private land in beautiful Douglas County. This amazing landscape includes lands that were once part of two Colorado homesteads in the late 1890s. Today Cherokee Ranch is protected by a Conservation Easement and is owned by the Cherokee Ranch & Castle Foundation.
As you run or walk the (approximately) 5K course, you will have a spectacular panoramic view of the Front Range from Pikes Peak to Longs Peak and from the city to the plains. We will be awarding the King and Queen of the Mountain to the top male and top female, in addition to age group awards. All proceeds will benefit the Cherokee Ranch & Castle Foundation.
Join us for a royally good time!
