The Soles for Cole 5K is an event that commemorates the life of a young warrior and spreads the awareness of Cystic Fibrosis.
Four years ago, two highschoolers got together to create a 5K charity run that raised money towards the research of Cystic Fibrosis and the spreading of its awareness to those unaware. These two highschoolers were Cole Croteau and Christian Cullen. Cole, a life-long battler of CF, lived a life that inspired so many and later impacted the CF community as him and Christian held the 1st annual race at Ashley Park of Newnan, GA within six weeks of planning.
After four successful annual races, the Soles for Cole has raised over $40,000 towards the search for a cure. What started out as a race for a cure, the Soles for Cole became a memorial race in 2015 following the passing of Cole Croteau on September 28th, 2014. With the same goal of spreading awareness and raising money for a cure, a majority of proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the rest fund a memorial scholarship that go to two deserving students at East Coweta High School (Coles alma mater).
