About This Activity
The 4th annual Bookworm Triathlon offers a big race feel at a small race price. Four different race categories are offered which are meant to challenge experienced triathletes (Sprint), young athletes and adult beginners (SuperSprint), non-swimmers (Duathlon) and families or friends (Sprint Relay). The race offers a pool swim (300 yds - sprint,;150 yds - supersprint; or 1 mi run - du ), a scenic and rolling bike course on lightly traveled back roads (13.5 mi - sprint, du, and relay; 7.5 mi - supersprint), and a flat and fast finish run (5K - sprint, du, and relay; 2.1 mi - supersprint) on a mix of roads, paved bike trail, and crushed limestone.
There will be a spacious transition zone with bike racks provided, chip timing, a wide assortment of post-race drinks, fruit and snacks.
The race serves as a major fundraiser for the Scottdale Library. Last year's race raised almost $10,000 and drew over 100 participants. We hope to double the number of participants this year.
