About This Activity
Enjoy fall’s stunning colors as you run/walk on back country roads and all while taking in views of beautiful Sand Lake. The race begins and ends at two historic sites located in Washington County which happens to be the first county in MN. Each participate will receive the first annual "Apple Away 5k" t-shirt before boarding the school bus for Hay Lake Museum. When you have finished you will be treated to a free slice of apple pie along with a glass of hot or cold apple cider to wash it down.

7:30am-registration/shirt pick up begins at Gammelgarden Museum
8:20-first wave of runner’s board school bus for Hay Lake museum
8:30-first wave of runners leave Hay Lake
9:30-last wave of runners leave Hay Lake
8:50-10:30-runners/walkers arrive at Gammelgarden Museum for apple pie and cider
Course info: Runners/walkers will start on Old Marine Trail from there they will head east until they head north on Oxboro Ave N. From Oxboro runners will take a left onto Oakhill Rd, and end the run by taking a left onto 209th St. Once on 209th Gammelgarden Museum will be in view where pie and apple cider awaits you.
Parking info: Participates can park at the Scandia community left which is just across from Gammelgarden Museum
Arrival info: Once you arrive at Gammelgarden there will be a table set up outside where each person will sign a waiver and pick up their shirt (inside depending on the weather)
Miscellaneous details: There will be water stations along the route path so bringing a water bottle is not necessary. The main building of the museum is heated and has plenty of bathrooms if participates would like to change into warmer clothes depending on the weather.
***The first 100 participates will receive a t-shirt so make sure to register early
