About This Activity

Bradford County’s inaugural half marathon will take place along the beautiful shores of the Susquehanna River on October 7, 2017. The route begins at 9 am in Sayre, PA and follows along the river through an area rich in Native American history. Runners will experience 1219 ft of elevation change throughout the race enjoying some challenging hills and valleys! All participants are invited to bring family and friends on Friday evening to enjoy refreshments as they pick up their race packets. Local hotels and motels will be offering special rates, and the Hornbrook campground will offer free camping to all runners.  This  race is being held in conjunction with the 2017 Walk for Our Buddies on October 7th at 10:00 am to raise awareness and funds for local families with loved ones affected by Down Syndrome.  Marathon runners may sponsor a local child with Down Syndrome through the purchase of a blue and yellow ribbon on Friday evening or Saturday morning.  Ribbons are $5.00.  At the end of the race, runners will have the opportunity to meet the child they sponsored.

Come enjoy the beauty of the fall season as you run this scenic course.  All half marathon participants will receive a finisher medal.

Race packets can be picked up Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larnard Hornbrook County Park and 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning at Riverfront Park in Sayre. Shuttle buses will leave Hornbrook Park at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday Morning to transport runners to the start line.
