"The Original Siesta Key Triathlon" has been held annually on the #1 beach in the USA since 1985 with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Yellow and Black of the Sarasota Sharks Swim Team. This year begins a new era for one of the longest running races in America, as it becomes the 1st event to be part of The Sustainable Rock Project, a collaboration between multiple groups and organizations to maximize a safe race experience, minimize negative impacts on our community and planet, and share sustainable options for our future. The race itself (subject to change) currently consists of a 0.3-mile Swim in the Gulf of Mexico along the beach just out from the iconic lifeguard towers of Siesta Key Beach. The bike loop is a fast 12.2-miles along an open course south to Turtle Beach, back north on Midnight Pass Rd. and back. The 3.1-mile run takes you out to the hard packed white sands of Siesta Key Beach, south along the shoreline to the turnaround at Old Stickney Pt. Rd Beach Access and back to the Finish Line and festivities.
Siesta Key Triathlon has a NO REFUND policy. Race management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to inclement weather, emergency, natural disaster, governmental interference, or natural occurrences beyond the control of race management. Entries are NON-REFUNDABLE. Note cut-off times for swim and bike during registration.
