5K Run Dead - Salt Lake City UT - 10/4/14

5KRunDead is a zombie-infested charity 5K fun run.  100% of proceeds will benefit local schools and scientific research on cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

Here are the basics of the race:
Runners will endure a 5K run through a zombie-infested course. Test your speed, endurance, and strength while trying to avoid ravenous zombies. Runners will have flags that represent their health. Zombies will try to steal those flags. Runners must make it to the finish line with at least one flag or become one of the walking dead!  Prizes will be awarded for runners and zombies.  We will be showing a fun zombie-themed movie (Zombieland) indoors afterward complete with food vendors.

Event details and schedule

What is the schedule for the day?

• 3:30 pm:  Runner packet pickup begins.  Zombies and spectators can get painted and transformed into zombies by on-site makeup artists.
• 4:25 pm:  Zombies meet and are directed to their locations.
• 4:40 pm:  Runners start to line up.
• 4:45pm:  All zombies are in their locations throughout the race.
  
• 5:00 pm:  The 5KRunDead race begins!
• 6:30 pm:  Awards ceremony.
• 7:15pm:  The movie "Zombieland" to be shown on an indoor screen.
  
• 9:45 pm:  Time to keep on surviving and be the life of the RunDead party somewhere else.
