About This Activity
The course travels through cool oak forests and along breezy ridgelines with wonderful views, just above Coyote Lake. It features rolling hills through the dried grasses of the Santa Clara Valley; where you can find checkerspot butterflies, Two-Hundred-Nineteen species of birds, including our “National Bird” the bald eagle, black-tailed deer, amongst other wildlife during your run. It’s a stunning course, no matter the distance and one of our favorites.
The Half Marathon is a single loop while the Marathon is two of the same loop. The 10k is a smaller loop along parts of the Half Marathon loop. The half and full marathon have about 3 miles of single track and 10 miles of well-groomed fire roads. Most of the run is through cattle grazing area so you will see many cows and may even be held up by a few if they decide to cross the trail in front of you.Not to worry though, they are generally pretty mellow so yelling and waving your arms usually gets them mooovin along.Haha.
All runners will be able to enjoy a post-race beer as well as the food you come to expect from a trail race. There will be finishers’ medals for all distances.
