About This Activity
The Icebreaker Mutt Run is Mutt Mudders kick off event. It is a scenic, non-timed 5k through the beautiful Historic Wheeler Farms. Participants can run, jog, or walk with your families, friends, and well behaved dogs, while enjoying the atmosphere of a working farm in the city. All individual participants will receive a complimentary t-shirt, drawstring bag, and bandana. (T-shirts, bags, and bandanas are not included in the Kid's registration but may be purchashed if desired).You will be able to get to know your local professionals after the event by mingling with a fantastic network of animal rescues, trainers, veterinarians, and more.You can also visit all of the farm animals, historic sites, and enjoy food and refreshments after the event at your own pace. Event details and schedule
The 5k will start at 9 am. You will want to arrive 30 minutes prior to start time. 5k course will close at 11 am. Event will end at 1 pm. Parking is located on the south west area of the premises. Additional parking is located on the north west area of the premises. Packet pick-up will be on Friday, March 27th, at Wheeler Farms, from 4pm-7pm. Waivers will need to be signed, and ID required at time of packet pick-up. If you can not make packet pick-up on Friday, you can receive your packets on race day from 7:30 am- 8:30 am at the registration table at Wheeler Farms. Weather may still be a little cold at this time of year, so watch the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
Courseinfo: The course start line will be located at the south west area of the premises, just south of the parking lot. The course is about 2 1/4 laps around the premises for the full 5k. There will be a water station located at about the 3/4 mile mark, the 2 mile mark, and the race finish. See photos for a course map.
Additional rules and info:
Keep dogs on leashes at all times while on Event premises: Including, before the event, during the event, and after the event.
Leashes can have a maximum length of 6 feet.
Retractable leashes are prohibited.
Participants may walk with a maximum of 1 dog per participant for the safety of the dog and others.
It is the participants' responsibility to securely fasten the leash to both yourself and your dog.
Tighten your dogs collar so the collar cannot slip off your dog's head.
Clean up after your pet. Carry waste bags with you at all times. Waste bags will also be provided at events, but it is the responsibility of the pet owner to pick up defecation from your pet and place it in a trash removal container.
All participants must wear their bib during the race with the number clearly visible.
All dogs must wear the bandana provided at all times while on the event premises.
All participants must follow the course directions during the race. If a participant wants or needs to get off the course, exit the course from the sides. Do not go backwards through the course.
It is the participant's responsibility to control all actions, including aggression, of your dog at all times while on the Event premises.
Mutt Mudders, and Mutt Mudders staff and volunteers, reserve the right to remove any participant and/or dog, from the Event premises, for any reason, at our discretion.
Mutt Mudders, and Mutt Mudders staff and volunteers, reserve the right to use physical force and objects (training whips, training sticks), to discipline, control, or break up any unwanted actions of any dog, while on the Event premises, at our discretion.
Littering is prohibited. Participants may be removed from the Event premises for littering. The Event site must stay clean for the safety of the dogs and others. We take this very seriously.
