The Midway Chamber of Commerce’s Shirt Off My Back 5K benefiting Goodwill kicks off the 2nd Annual Open Streets St. Paul event on Sunday, September 21.  Goodwill provides the bins for you to drop your duds while running on famous University Avenue alongside the new Green Line in St. Paul.  Our goal is to collect 400 pounds of clothing.  So join us and give the ‘Shirt Off YOUR Back’ for a worthy cause.  Following the race there is a community pancake breakfast at the Daily Diner to help kick off the start of Open Streets St. Paul.

The race starts at 8am at the corner of Marion and Universtiy Ave West.  This event is part of St Paul Open Streets.

Open Streets events bring together families, neighbors and friends to mingle, recreate, dine, play and shop in their community in a safe, car-free environment. Participants can explore the street that is open only to foot, bicycle and skate traffic. In addition to bicycling, walking and skating, there are programmed recreational activities for all ages along the street. Some of these activities might include yoga, zumba, games and dance lessons. There will also be musical performances and classes on bike safety and repair.
